At D.F. Richard, safety has always been at the heart of what we do. From delivering propane to servicing home heating systems, we understand the responsibility that comes with handling energy solutions — and that responsibility doesn’t stop with our customers. It extends to the entire community.
That’s why we’re proud to share that D.F. Richard recently sponsored Dover firefighter Matt McClean to attend the Propane Gas Association of New England’s (PGANE) 3-Day Propane Safety Clinic. A hands-on training event that brings together first responders and propane professionals to focus on emergency preparedness, response strategies, and leak mitigation techniques.
Held annually, the PGANE Propane Safety Clinic is one of the most comprehensive trainings of its kind in the region. Over the course of three intensive days, firefighters gain firsthand experience in responding to propane emergencies, including real-life leak simulations and equipment training, all with safety at the forefront. By the end of the training, participants earn a certification and ID card, signifying their preparedness to respond to propane-related calls with expertise and confidence.
Why We Sponsored Firefighter Matt McClean
When the opportunity arose to sponsor a local firefighter for this specialized training, we knew it was a perfect fit for our mission. Dover Firefighter Matt McClean is a dedicated public servant who goes above and beyond to protect our community every day. By supporting his attendance at the safety clinic, we’re helping ensure that Dover’s first responders are not only prepared — they’re equipped with the best possible tools and knowledge to handle propane-related emergencies safely and effectively.

A Commitment to Community and Safety
This sponsorship reflects our broader commitment to the safety and well-being of the communities we serve. At D.F. Richard, we believe in strengthening the ties between propane providers and emergency services. When we work together, everyone benefits — especially when every second counts in an emergency.
We’re proud to invest in programs like this and in people like Firefighter McClean who make a difference every day. Community safety isn’t just a checkbox for us, it’s a standard we strive to raise, year after year.
